Monty G Mythen

Professor Monty Mythen is Smiths Medical Professor and Consultant in Anaesthesia and Critical Care at University College London (UCL), and University College Hospital (UCH) and Director of both the UCL Centre for Anaesthesia and the joint UCL/UCH Biomedical Research Unit.

His specialist research interests include: determinants of post-operative morbidity and mortality, peri-operative resuscitation and resuscitation fluids.  He is co-director of Evidence-Based Perioperative Medicine (EBPOM), a not for profit collaborative project and was a core team member of the Caudwell Xtreme Everest 2007 project, being laboratory manager at Namche Bazaar, Nepal (3,500m). 

Outside of the hospital, Monty is a qualified RFU Youth Coach at Ealing Trailfinders RFC.
